Mid Herts Scouts remembers fallen Heroes…
Posted on 17 November 2016
Scouts from across Mid Herts came together this Remembrance Sunday to remember fallen Heroes and find out about the importance of this solemn occasion.
Mid Herts Scouts thinks that it is hugely important for Scouts to participate in Remembrance events. In Scouting Remembrance means different things to different people, it might be visiting a monument at home or abroad, meeting Veterans or selling poppies.
A number of Queen’s Scouts were also helping at the national Remembrance Service in London forming the Guard of Honour outside the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Whatever the activity the reason is the same, to come together and remember the past while learning the lessons for the future.
Scouting is creating opportunities for young people to develop social skills, independence and form friendships is central to Scouting philosophy and has long term positive impact on young people’s lives, Scouting is shaped by young people in partnership with adults and we are always looking for new volunteers and if you fancy a go at Scouting in Mid Herts why not join the adventure at www.scouts.org.uk/join.
