Cubs (8 – 10½yrs)

A Cub Scout Pack can have up to 36 Cub Scouts and is split into smaller groups called Sixes.

Cubs take part in a wide range of activities designed to be interesting and challenging. A Cub Scout meeting consists of games and activities with plenty of time spent outdoors.

Camps and holidays are some of the most memorable events of the year for Cubs. One of our biggest events for our cubs is Cub camp, which gives all of the cubs in Hatfield, Welwyn Garden City, Welwyn and Codicote a chance to camp together and see lots of other children their age to do activities that they may never have done before.

Cubs also work towards their badges. These include activity badges, challenge badges and staged badges. The Cubs are also encourged to achieve their highest award which is their cheif scout silver award.

Nature and the outdoors are languages that can be learned. Once you identify a beech tree, tie a clove hitch or cook a simple meal over a fire that you’ve built yourself, you’ll never forget it.'
