Network within Mid Herts

Within Mid Herts we get upto a lot of fun at our meetings. From games night, to pub quizzes, to campfires, to night hikes. We have it all. And the best thing is that it is run by the participants. That’s right!!. Network run the show.

We also get involved with the county wide network as well. So we have some network members from Hemel Hempstead, Pottar’s Bar and Stevenage come and join us with our activities and we sometimes go and join in with them. Which means you get to meet even more people and make more friends. You also get to see what our districts run meaning your get so see and even bigger part of Scouting and the family.

As Mid Herts we also have the opportunity to get involved with events that the county team put on. We do things like escape rooms and sports nights.

Even taking a weekend to go walking in Wales, Scotland or other national parks around the UK for a bit of fun.

So we always have plenty to keep the network busy whilst still having tonnes of fun.

Can I be a leader and a member of the Scout Network ?

Of couse you can. Most of our network members have 1 or more secondary roles. This could be being a leader at one of the groups within our district or having another role within the district.

More than 60% of our network members are leaders at other groups.

Being a leader and apart of the network is great because you can share ideas and take others ideas and activities that are discussed back to your group to incorperate into your programs.

Do I have to be a leader to be in Network ?

The answer is no. You do not have to be a leader to be in the network. We have lots of member that are not leaders and just part of network.

Is There a Uniform ?

Yes, the scout network members have the same uniform as leaders, which is a shirt or blouse is stone colour with the added scout network badge. Although at regular meetings we do not wear uniform.
