Active Support Unit

What is the Active Support Unit ?

Scout Active Support allows adults to give their time to Scouting on a flexible basis, without the full-time commitment of being a leader.

It not every week or even every month, it’s whatever time you are able to give.

The Active Support Unit in Mid Herts has adults who have been leaders in the past and adults who just want to help in the Scout movement without any regular commitments.

Helping varies with the local needs but could be temporary help within a group sections, helping at District events and serving on a committee, etc.

We are known locally as the Purple Crew as some of us wear a purple sweatshirt when helping.

The Unit also holds social events for members and leaders in the District.
